Some mates and I ordered some gear from Eastbay.com on Friday and it arrived today.
From the US and delivered in Australia in 4 days. So fast. And the prices are brilliant compared to the cost of the same shoes locally.

Back in the day my siblings and I were all champion athletes at school. We received medals and represented our schools at the regional competitions.
Yesterday my nephews competed in their school cross country running and managed first and second. Good to see the family tradition continuing.

I recently purchased a season membership for our city basketball team and last night one of the players called me to thank me for the support.
Now that’s service!

quiz masters

Late this afternoon my sister calls me and asks if I have any plans for the night. I said I had tentative plans, but she asked if I’d fill in on her quiz team since a few people had pulled out at the last minute.
I also brought in a good friend for some added firepower.
We beat the next team by almost 200 points (we scored 965).
Demolition.

risen knight

I went and checked out the new Batman movie and loved it.
I thought the story was great, it didn’t feel as disjointed as the last one and had some great twists.
I’ll go see it again for sure.

rock

I’ve been in a pseudo rock band for about 5 months but we can’t seem to find time to practice.
This is the 3rd night I’ve rocked up and no one else has arrived.
I’m thinking it’s time to disband.

too cool

I’ve been an Apple fanboy for far too long and something I read this morning made me laugh.
This is a direct quote from the July 14 Economist magazine.
“In a victory for Samsung’s sales, if not its style, a British judge declared that its Galaxy tablet did not infringe any iPad patents because it was ‘not as cool’ as Apple’s product.”
Bam! Smack down.

barrier

Mum and dad came to visit. Mum refused to come inside because I have a pet snake.
We decided to go out for lunch.

shows

A couple of shows I recommend checking out: Continuum and Falling Skies. One is about a time traveling woman cop (that was the green alien girl in Star Trek 2009) and the other is about some alien invasion survivors.
I can’t wait for the season return of Warehouse 13.

next season

The next NBA season looks to be gearing up for an interesting one. I think the teams to watch will be the Lakers, Heat and Knicks, thanks to their recently announced acquisitions. I’m a bit disappointed the teams are feeling a bit stacked though.
